Changing Africa with Sophisticated Computer Laboratories

Africa's Sea Cables will make internet fast yes that is true but in my view i also think we should re-address the issue of ICT study structure .

We should start teaching Computer Architecture at Universities for instance software engineering graduates will need to fly abroad to finish they projects.

Without Computer Architecture ,when shall we Africa ever build our own  Electronic devices or gadgets because a Printed Circuit Board is programmed by well trained MITS professions which we miss in Africa. That is why most of the software engineering students can not fully use all what they were taught  at the University.

For me i think if i make it to massachusetts institute of technology  - MIT i will become one great scholar of the Institute in the field of science and technology .

I only have one question What can we do as Africa to start building Computer Architecture Laboratories at Universities .

Feel free post you views be free......I want to build the next generation with you

Thanks

Let Africa invest in Consultancy,Thinktanks,Change the School syllabus too

I give credit to our colonial leaders who left us with various teaching schemes,Yes Thanks to the British especially if you are Ugandan like me.Well since they left we have been following and using they ordinary first teaching syllabus and schemes of training yet back home (UK) things changed and in the western world people learn vocationally not being pushed or burdened as i may put it clear to study 8 to 10 subjects and finally drop 6 or 7 to concentrate on a career/goal.

I believe we are lucking visionary people, I wish i would be given a chance to speak to Africa .
I would give a very brief speech.Let us take this example if Africa took all best and interested Teachers for further studies say post graduate scholarships in various academic fields like IT,Science,Economics,Geography,Biology name it all .Then affirmatively all Sponsored Teachers come back and teach other Teachers at Teachers Training Colleges (TTC) /Universities and pass on what they learnt.Just imagine how many skilled people shall  Africa have?

Teaching has moved from Teacher Based to Students Based meaning a pupil is given chance to express him/herself more than a teacher teaching so the pupils gets to be tailor taught where /what /how /when to apply his knowledge then being assessed to compare and know pupils' absorption rate and knowledge gain.

I teach Information technology and its totally practical when we orally speak about anything it must be seen, tried out immediately and with visual expression on a projector or desktop computer.

I really can not see any reason why i studied ,Geography,Chemistry,Biology,Physics and ended up repairing and teaching computer anatomy.Assuming i took up Information technology as a kid when i first saw the computer in 1993 where would i be now for sure.

Actually that is why in the western world a person is taught what they really love. At 17 to 20 someone already has working experience. Here in Africa only lucky youth get such a chance.

So i decided to initiate a project to start an IT institute to make IT training not only educational but vocational based learnt. Finish the course start your own venture tomorrow .How does this sound in your ears?

If it were you what solution would you give to Change Africa by a click???????

Feel free to post your views below.

Thanks its my pleasure sharing my IT experience to help anyone.

Changing Africa with a click

Thanks for reading my blog,i can't predict or tell what the future holds for each one of us.When i started using the a computer i hardly knew i would become an advanced computer user i am to-date.I only played chess ,drove rallies then ran out to play soccer.

I am a male aged 33,a freelance computer consultant/PC trainer.

Now here i am a Computer System Administrator with qualification in Information Technology and also computer engineering .

Information technology is a vast field with numerous disciplines and if carefully chosen one can stretch even further than they believe. Personally i have never worked below managerial positions or departmental head .

I used to love office work preferably and better than Teaching but as i grew up i saw the need to help bring Africa closer to something from nothing. When i decided to become a computer instructor, i discovered  the need to teach pupils from High school,College and University and that is exactly how i have devoted all my past 10 years to IT training ,9 years to computer repair and maintenance and in 2008Computer Consultancy.

Here i am today seeking to meet an investor/ NGO interested in starting an IT institute .I believe i can only support the next generation with a good educational facilitation center that will last for centuries to support the youth at various levels but most importantly groom youth to a self geared interdependency.

" Gaining knowledge is one golden gift but we forget to apply it to our own fields of profession  "
