Yes! Education can change Africa...But how?
I still strongly believe that if we teach our kids or further support Teachers Institution Centers ,Education will be the best weapon to drive away African Problems like Poverty eradication .
First a quick review of what we have? Colonial Educational system.Which was Knowledge Based Curriculum ....Which actually the Western Countries have revised merged with Skilled Based Curriculum.
Secondly Sieving should be done ,not to teach a child 8 subjects and end up with a Child becoming an Artist be a fine artist or Musician. So why did the child study all those subjects to date.Mathematics,Geography,
English,Science,name it all .
Truth be told Mathematics and English are a must but early specialization by the Educational Boards should set up the best Tools of Trade in sieving and allocating pupils to direct future routes of prosperity.
If we rejuvenated Students Unions,Forums all would help but the problem still lies deeply rooted into the system of education itself. Then came Universal Education in most African Countries with slogans Let us all learn ..True people are learning but its only knowledge Based.
Had we adopted Universal Education with perspective view for instance;
- Teach Institutional Trainers through further study programs that would be better.
- Teachers should go on exchange programs to other countries that are better than they countries.
- Students are tailor taught from Child hood then branched at 8th grade.
Unfortunately for Africa taking East Africa as a case in point. We learn Mathematics,English,Science,History,Geography,Other Foreign Languages, for 7 years you tailored to sink all that in our small brains. Then go to High School ...Its like insanity ,You start with Maths,Languages,Science breaks down to Physics,Biology,Chemistry,History just breaks up to South African History,West African History,East African History....then Geography breaks up into Physical Geography,World Geography ....I tell you it is just a mixed up issue.
I stand strong and tall ,shouting out my voice its inappropriately addressed. Any Language is good for teaching that is if someone can use it in Class and meetings, in exams ,for some cases its a weird story ?
A teacher is teaching to earn or get a government load ? People start schools to make profit ,Why not think of building a united country or call it a United Africa.Where governments monitor valued pieces of work academically which actually produces professions in all aspects.
I am of an opinion! Let us tailor teach our next generation kids to have a better career and profession.Focus on your child's interest at an early age then move on to another stage. If a child training in a skilled and knowledge based institute why forcibly push your child to what people are doing. Many times we have just woken up and have been taken by Snob effect.By mere looking at a friends child in a particular school and funny enough parents do not even ask for the creditability of institutes all they do is enrol. Some even dump child at Schools thing what they have paid is enough yet follow up is what merges with Parent, the Child and the School resulting into success of your CHILD.
I surely believe for instance in East Africa that Tanzania will be one of the most Millennium Development Goal- MDG achieved country because they have put up a lot of infrastructures to boost the economy.
Education is the first priority with massive influx of both mature and middle age people returning to study.
Which is not effectively evident in other countries focusing on MDG.
Without putting education as a core focus Africa will never easily achieve its goals of wanting to move from Third World Countries status.Presidents hanging in there on their regimes is undemocratically perceived.Privatization taking up all the breathing space as investors regulation tools fall to a deaf ear their in looms the Killer the all Africa's success CORRUPTION.
My dear brothers and sister,Do think of educating any family member that has less or access to education yet their need it.Girls as school drop outs my sisters its never too late just put that affair a side return to school.
For the Love of Africa and Educating the World ~ Please let us join Hands
Any opinion is worth looking,Speak out.
